National Committee for Steel Industry held its first meeting at the Council of Saudi Chambers, and it announced during this meeting that Eng. Rayed Abdullah Al-Ajaji was re-elected as chairman, and Eng. Ahmad Al-Shangiti and Counselor Muhammad Al-Jabr as vice chairmen, for the new session of the National Committees (1441AH – 1444AH / 2021-2023)
Eng. Rayed Al-Ajaji confirmed that the committee’s strategy is to achieve a national steel industry with a social, manufacturing and professional responsibility, defending the interests of steel sector, overcoming challenges, promoting fair competition and attracting investments to develop the role of steel industry within the national economy.

The National Committee for Steel Industry, emanating from the Council of Saudi Chambers, held its fifteenth meeting of its executive members and the third meeting of the General Assembly remotely, where the Chairman of the Committee, HE Eng. Raed Al-Ajaji, briefed the members of the committee on the most important work and achievements of the committee in its second session that ended in September the past.
In this regard, Eng. Raed Al-Ajaji thanked all members of the National Committee for Steel Industry for their continuous support for all the committee’s activities during its second session, which spanned for three years, during which the committee made a quantum leap in supporting the national steel industry at the local and global levels.
The meeting of the committee was accompanied by a campaign launched by the National Committee for the Iron Industry entitled (Iron Facts) in cooperation with the International Federation of Iron and Steel, which is a series of valuable facts and information about the iron mineral, highlighting the historical, natural, industrial and societal facts of this strategic mineral, and this is the first time. In which these facts are translated into Arabic from the World Iron and Steel Union, which welcomed this directive.
It is worth noting that the National Committee for Iron Industry has been an associate member of the International Union of Iron and Steel since 2018
NCSI holds it 14th Meeting virtually

The National Committee for Steel Industry held a (virtual – remote) due to the emerging Covid-19 virus global pandemic.
Members of the Executive Committee discussed in their 14th meeting a number of topics of utmost importance, on top of which were the challenges facing the steel industry in domestic and global markets.
In addition, committee members recognized the necessity of restructuring the committee’s work teams and the need to create new teams as required by the current economic stage, such as safety team, the economic committee team, quality team and cut & bend team.

National Committee for Steel Industry warned of the repercussions of the decisions taken by some countries to impose protective duties on their imports of iron and steel products, and called for the concerted efforts of steel industry sector and officials to remedy them.
This came during the sixth meeting of the committee, which was held in the Council of Saudi Chambers headed by Eng. Rayed Al-Ajaji.
The committee also stressed that mitigating the damage to industry requires urgent implementation to raise customs duties to the maximum limits stipulated in the Kingdom’s agreement with the World Trade Organization.
It also approved and signed agreements to participate and sponsor international conferences, and the agreement to organize the first Saudi International Iron and Steel Conference in Riyadh in early 2019

Rayed Abdullah Al Ajaji was elected as the new committee chairman and Mr. Mohammad Al-Jabr and Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Hudaib as vice chairmen respectively.
It’s worth mentioning that Eng. Al Ajaji is the CEO of Universal Metal Coating company – UNICOIL based in Al Jubail Industrial City, whereas Mr. Al Jabr is the Managing Director of Al-Jabr for Economic Consultancies and Mr. Al-Hudaib is the Vice President of Rajhi Steel Industries.
